Martha Ladly

Dr. Martha Ladly, GRAND PNI, Associate Dean Graduate Studies, OCAD

Ladly specializes in media and technology in art and design. She is a senior researcher with the Mobile Experience Lab and a Network Investigator with GRAND NCE. Ladly held the Chair of the OCADU Research Ethics Board (2008-2011), and was Graduate Program Director of the Interdisciplinary Master’s Program in Art, Media, and Design (2009-2011), and recently led the development of the Graduate Program in Digital Futures. She was the Director of the Canadian digital arts and culture website HorizonZero (www.horizonzero.ca). Throughout the 1990s Ladly worked with Peter Gabriel and Real World, leading design teams for international award-winning interactive arts and entertainment projects. Ladly is an internationally published author, and the co-editor of the first anthology on mobile design: Mobile Nation: Creating Methodologies for Mobile Platforms. Ladly recently defended her PhD dissertation on Eros, Women and Technology, with the joint program in Communication and Culture at York University.
