“Eco Cultures” is an initiative at UBCO lead by Holmes and Castricano combining scholarly research and research-creation about ecological issues. Eco Art Incubator (SSHRC funded) lead by Nancy Holmes at UBCO is an umbrella under which students and artists work for conservation and ecological initiatives. Her poetry and fiction have recently been published in Room of One’s Own, Lichen, The Malahat Review, Matrix, Prairie Fire, Grain, The Harpweaver, and The Antigonish Review. She is the editor of Open Wide a Wilderness: Canadian Nature Poems (Waterloo, ON: Wilfrid Laurier Press, 2009). She teaches Creative Writing at UBCO. She co-edits the journal, Lake: A Journal of Arts and Environment with Sharon Thesen.
